The Yarmouth History Center is a resource for educators, students, community members, and out-of-state visitors. Please call (207-846-6259) or email (info@yarmouthmehistory.org) before you visit so that we can ensure staff is available to help you. We also welcome research requests. We will spend about 15 minutes on an initial search of our collections free of charge; additional research is charged at a rate of $35/hour. Members receive one free hour of research assistance. Please contact us for additional information about our research services or to start a research request.

National Register of Historic Places

The National Register program is administered by the National Park Service under the auspice of the United States Department of the Interior. Properties are nominated for inclusion in the National Register by each state’s Historic Preservation office. Read more…

The Town of Yarmouth in collaboration with the Village Improvement Society and Yarmouth Historical Society recently conducted an architectural survey of historic homes, civic structures, and commercial buildings over 50 years of age in the village core. Read more…

First Parish Church Digital Archive

Thanks to the efforts of the Congregational Library and Archives and Maine Historical Society, the earliest records of First Parish, running from 1730 through 1849, have been digitized for public access.
