Cocktails at the Camp

February 25, 2019

Friday, April 26, 7:00-9:00 pm, at Yarmouth’s historic Camp Hammond, 275 Main Street

Tickets now available! Click here or call 846-6259 to reserve your place.

Enjoy “Cocktails at the Camp” on Friday, April 26 and help support the mission of Yarmouth Historical Society. We’ll have tasty hors d’oeuvres, signature cocktails, a fabulous grand prize, and live music, all within the historic surroundings of Camp Hammond on Main Street in Yarmouth. Proceeds from the event will support the programs and operations of the Yarmouth History Center.

This festive fundraiser will showcase the grand interiors of George and Ellen Hammond’s 1891 summer “camp,” which enabled them to enjoy Yarmouth village and keep an eye on the nearby Forest Paper Company pulp mill, of which Mr. Hammond was manager. The Hammonds were fully engaged in the civic life of Yarmouth and entertained friends and family regularly in their home, a Shingle Style dwelling full of fascinating architectural details. The house was built using mill construction techniques, which enabled it to be more resistant to fire. Camp Hammond was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
