Join us at Yarmouth History Center on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 7:00 as we host local author Robin Foster in conversation about her new book Grit and Ghosts: Following the Trail of Eight Tenacious Women across a Century (Bison Books). Grit and Ghosts travels the American West to unearth powerful stories of tenacious women who forged ahead in spite of hardship and obstacles, weaving together a rich tapestry of grit, resilience, and memories. 

Robin Foster studied creative writing at Bennington Writing Seminars and has a PhD in American Studies from Rutgers University-Newark. She is the author of Carl Van Doren: A Man of Ideas, National Indie Excellence Awards Finalist for 2019. Her work has been published in Rooted2: The Best New Arboreal Nonfiction, Another Chicago Magazine, Goats Milk Magazine, and the Journal of Urban History. Foster lives in South Portland, where she teaches history and English to Speakers of Other Languages. www.robinkayfoster.com
