Amy Toneys: Portraits of Yarmouth

November 3, 2023

The Brick Block, Yarmouth by Amy Toneys

Extended through February 3!

Thanks to The Forecaster for covering this exhibit!

Our current show in the Stonewall Gallery is Portraits of Yarmouth by Amy Toneys. For this exhibition, Yarmouth artist Amy Toneys has combined her dual expertise in painting and architecture to create beautifully detailed portraits of some of Yarmouth’s most iconic buildings, both past and present. Visitors will see familiar local landmarks, shops, and community buildings, as well as a couple of Yarmouth’s long-gone locations. Come view these watercolors alongside some of the historic photographs from Yarmouth History Center’s collection that served as inspiration. All of the original watercolors are for sale; consider taking one home for the holidays! The show will be on view through February 3, 2024.

Amy Toneys lives in Yarmouth with her husband and daughters. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art from St. Norbert College and a Master of Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design. Amy left her career as a textile engineer when her oldest daughter was born eight years ago. She started watercoloring shortly after and began painting house portraits for private clients. Yarmouth History Center is the proud host of her first art show. Interested in commissioning a custom portrait of a house, building or special place? Please contact Amy at amy.toneys@gmail.com

The Stonewall Gallery is located inside the Yarmouth History Center at 118 East Elm Street in Yarmouth, Maine. Our hours are Tuesday through Saturday, from 10:00-4:00.
